Colour palettes in Adobe Photoshop 3.x-5.x

Simply choose "Window/Show Color/Replace Color" to load the desired palette. When colouring the objects (e.g. a house facade) try whatever colours come to mind. Photoshop's layer technology makes it easy.

The adherence to this destination path is not necessary for the availability of the palettes in the program.

In this program variant the RGB palettes (sRGB, Trinitron) were defined in CMYK. To achieve this the neutral colour part was substituted by 100% Black (100% GCR).

Usage of colour systems in Adobe Photoshop 3.x-5.x

  1. Open Photoshop and go to „Window/Palettes/Show colour fields“.
  2. Click on the little arrow in the upper right corner of the colour field window and select „Exchange colour fields“.
  3. Open the directory „Palettes“ and select the wanted palette of the above named files.
  4. Use the corollary card to find the wanted colour in the palette.
  5. Design with your colour system.

Due to the conditions in Photoshop 3-5 it is not possible to display the colour names in the palette. The position of each RAL colour in the colour palette is shown in the pdf file „Begleitkarte.pdf“ in the CD-ROM palette directory of Photoshop 3-5.

Photoshop 6 was fundamentally modified by Adobe: Colour names are displayed in the palette, the corollary card is not needed anymore.
