Colour palettes in Autodesk AutoCAD 3D
The CAD-bolide is, on the one hand, equipped with materials for the 3D-mode and, on the other, with M-Colour palettes for use in 2D (coloured layer, interior, lines etc.).
| Versions | AutoCADR14 and up |
| File format | TGA (Materialien) |
| Colour systems | all |
| Optimizations | Standard RGB |
| Application for | Colouring of 3D objects, rendering |
| Ergonomics | *** |
In the TGA-format the materials produce an
exact representation of the colour with light, shadows, glossiness etc.
They are employed via the render-function.

The materials library (MLI) and the materials (TGA) are
to be installed in the aforementioned folder.
The program does not have to comply with the aforementioned target path in
order for the palettes to be available. Although the materials libraries (MLI)
have to be installed in the same folder as the palettes (TGA-files).
If another path is used, other than the aforementioned target path, this should be conveyed to the program as a primary texture path:
In this program variation the CMYK-palettes (artprint,
uncoated paper, newsprint) are defined in RGB. During this process the black
elements are replaced by 100% through corresponding negativ RGB-values (standard
formula).
Application of the colours palettes in AutoCAD 3D
* If more than 170 colours are selected in AutoCAD, the program shuts down with an overrun error. By importing several times, you can include more than 170 colours in your project.
