Colour palettes in Kinetix 3D Studio

In the case of the colours a material library should be installed in addition to the TGA materials. This simplifies the access on the materials.

The adherence to the above mentioned material path name is necessary for the flawless functioning of the installed materials.

In this program variant the CMYK palettes (artprint, offset printing uncoated and coated paper) were defined in RGB. To achieve this the black component was substituted by respective negative RGB values (standard formula).


Installation and application in Kinetix 3D Studio

  1. After the installation, the colours are available in 3D Studio:
  2. Open a new or the file which can be processed.
  3. Select the menu command "Edit/Material Editor".
  4. Click to "Type/Standard ", in the following window you choose the option "Search\Material Library ".
  5. You can access the installed material libraries [name of the colour system].MAT via „File/Open“.
  6. Now in the material window the desired colour can be selected and be copied into the material editor of the current project. You can adjust different views.

Tip: However you can indicate the name of the appropriate text source file, for a colour, by selecting "Maps/Scattered". It will contain the colour number.
